Today, we are proud to offer an excellent contract opportunity for M icrobiologist Technician III with our client, a leader in the medical device industry, located in Clearwater, Florida Summary Description: In a medical device regulated environment provide Microbiological testing including sample collection, water microbial and chemical testing, bioburden testing, environmental monitoring, endotoxin testing, QC testing of media. Changing shift test times will require alternating work schedules. Typically 8-5. There are approximately 2 days a month that are 10am to 7pm. additionally- there are 2-4 days that would be 6am to 3pm. Specific Job Functions: Perform microbiological particle and environmental monitoring sampling (EM). Collection and microbiological and chemical analysis of water samples. Product Bioburden testing, endotoxin testing, QC testing of media and Process Challenge Device (PCD) preparation. Incubate, read, and document all microbiological plate results. Support sterilization processes with biological indicators; read and document results accordingly. Help maintain inventories of lab supplies, in particular EM supplies and reorders as necessary. Use of standard laboratory equipment including pH meter, spectrophotometer, balance, incubator, oven pipettes and filtration units. Perform laboratory duties in a manner consistent with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices). Read & Train on all required SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and review completed documentation (eg. Lab datasheets) for quality, completeness, and cGMP compliance. Write, review, and revise SOPs and/or work instructions for QA Microbiology use for cGMP manufacturing of commercial product. Train on all relevent systems, software, equipment, procedures, and/or processes. Collect, record, and report metrics. Assist in visual tracking to enhance trend analysis. Alert Manager/Supervisor when problems occur outside of standard Operating Procedures. Monitor equipment and/or systems for performance and problem indicators. Wear gowning, sterile garments, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as required by specific activities. Must be proficient in use of computers and applications such as databases, worksheets (Excel) and word processing (Word). Work must be accurate, legible and error free. Minimum Requirements: 4-year degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related discipline and 1 year of experience in a regulated or cGMP environment. Preferred Requirements: 4-year degree in Microbiology and 2 years previous experience leading microbiological testing activities in a medical device field or cGMP laboratory. Why Kelly?
