Dynamet is a member of Carpenter's Performance Engineered Products division and maintains a second manufacturing facility in western Florida.MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANDYNAMET - Clearwater, Florida locationPOSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities include leading the planning and execution of shutdowns, outages and projects, as well as working as a "hands on" craftsman. This will include maintaining the maintenance spare parts and drawings for the assigned area. This role will drive the concepts of preventative and predictive maintenance (PdM) for specific areas, equipment or departments, by communicating across the organization to maintain and improve equipment reliability. In addition, the position will have the responsibility to be innovative, develop processes and teach / train other craftsmen and production employees about specific equipment and processes. The plant currently is a 3-shift operation Monday through Sunday with some overtime and weekend work required.PRIMARY DUTIESIdentifies and maintains equipment identification, equipment component lists, equipment specifications and repair/service history in current systems.Reviews and enters work requests; including labor time estimates, materials list, and special tools required.Responsible for executing daily preventive maintenance and inspection tasks.Assists with mechanical system installation, troubleshooting and repair as needed.Understands the concept of Equipment Reliability, as it pertains to Preventive Maintenance, Infrared Thermography, Tribology, and Vibration analysis.Ability to schedule and balance priorities; and possess strong adherence to deadlines while in constant communication with area leader.Drives Lean activity to ensure department is consistently driving towards being the lowest cost provider by eliminating nonvalue added activities.Coordinates all appropriate craft skills required for job(s).Coordinates and communicates work and scheduling with production, engineering, and maintenance and, if needed, with outside contractor(s).Provides for and follows up on all drawing changes; insures that all drawings are up to date and accurate.Monitors and analyses work package, preventive maintenance, and work order repair/service history, by failure codes/job types, etc. Recommends appropriate predictive and planned maintenance action(s) to production and maintenance supervision.Monitors and assists, in a leadership role, in the control and execution of planned/scheduled work, overhauls, rebuilds, construction work, and system enhancements or improvements.Coordinates parts requests, supplies, and services through the stores procurement group; verifies that materials and services are available prior to scheduling the job.Plans and performs work requiring a thorough working knowledge of maintenance principles, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of equipment for all maintenance crafts.Solves problems encountered in all crafts and provides recommendations for establishing preventative methods for same.Plans, prepares, and presents maintenance education programs. Evaluates the performance of employees on presented material.Provides written and/or verbal presentations pertaining to work assignments.Participates in company-wide continuous improvement.Maintains a clean and orderly work area.Observes safety rules and regulations.Other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSIndividual must be an Industrial Mechanic to be considered. 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting experience preferred.Graduation from an accepted Technical Training Institution in a mechanical associates' degree program is preferred.Must be supportive of Manufacturing Maintenance goals.Must be flexible with work responsibilities and changing priorities.Must demonstrate leadership qualities and effective interpersonal skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills, teaching skills and the ability to prepare reports and conduct presentations.Ability to read, comprehend and apply a comprehensive understanding of engineered drawings.Must meet the ANSI fall protection requirements and ability to work from heights and various environmental conditions.Requires the ability to pass a pre-employment test which includes a background check, physical including drug and alcohol screen.Physical Demands/Work Environment - while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: Reach with hands and arms, stand; walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lift and or move 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
