About the Job:
As a Senior Maintenance Technician in the field of plastic injection molding, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of injection molding machines and related equipment. To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of plastic injection molding machines, their components, and the entire molding process. You must also be well-versed in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential attributes for a successful Senior Maintenance Technician in plastic injection molding.


Job Duties:
Machine Maintenance: Conducting regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on injection molding machines to ensure their optimal performance. This includes troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues, using knowledge of electrical-mechanical devices, circuitry, electronics, motors, wiring diagrams, schematics.
Equipment Calibration: Calibrating and adjusting equipment settings to meet production specifications and quality standards. This may involve setting machine parameters, temperature control, and pressure settings.
Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the production process. This includes diagnosing problems with machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment and implementing effective solutions promptly.
Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all safety protocols and guidelines are strictly followed by yourself and the maintenance team. Safety is of utmost importance in an industrial setting like plastic injection molding.
Documentation: Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and any modifications made to machines and molds. Accurate documentation is essential for future reference and analysis.
Continuous Improvement: Working to improve machine efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize production processes. Implementing new technologies or techniques to enhance overall productivity.
Spare Parts Management: Maintaining an inventory of spare parts, ordering replacements as needed, and managing spare parts budget effectively.
Collaborating with Production: Liaising with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to production schedules.


Education and Experience:
Minimum required: High School Diploma/GED
Preferred: Associate degree in vocational training in Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics. Technical School Certification in related field.
10+ years of experience in manufacturing maintenance highly preferred in plastic injection molding industry.
Maintenance experience repairing plastic injection molding equipment is highly preferred.
Requires a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic principles and systems.
Solid knowledge of mechanical equipment and electrical and hydraulic drawings.
Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair.
Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as technical manuals, blueprints, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
Knowledge and ability to use relevant hand tools in the repair of equipment.
