SCC is the largest supplier of comprehensive laboratory and Genetics information systems ( LIS ), (GIS) and LIMS for the healthcare industry .SCC modules are being used in over 1200 labs worldwide, including the 3 largest commercial labs in the north America.We are committed to combining the most effective technologies, innovative designs, and productive methodologies to create cost-effective solutions that enhance the productivity and competitiveness of our clients.POSITION SUMMARY:The Interface Implementation Specialist is responsible for the proper coordination of SCC, client, and foreign vendor efforts to ensure successful implementation of interfaces to foreign hospital/clinical information systems and reference laboratories.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Installs, configures and implements foreign system interfaces according to produced Detailed Design Specification for client/vendor(s) interfaces by the Interface Product team.Executes and documents Interface Test Plans, and carries out vendor-to-vendor testing with client/vendor(s) or third party vendor(s). Consults with the client and /or foreign system vendor as needed to test, implement the foreign system interfaces.Maintains knowledge of status of each interface under installation, providing such information to SCC personnel as required.Reviews problems encountered during interface testing phases to determine if original specifications must be revised to accommodate requests by the client.Installs and tests with the client/vendor SCC Standard HIS/EMR and Reference Lab interfaces as assigned.Assists with upgrade projects when requested, assists clients with testing and resolution of issues discovered during testing and validation of the foreign system interfacesAssists the client and provides technical support during integrated testing of foreign system interfaces and/or reference lab interfaces.Consults with programmers and product teams as needed to complete implementation and delivery of interfacesResponsible for maintaining client specifications, testing documentation, HIS Database, and assuring client sign off documents are complete prior to moving an interface to a production environmentComplies with all approved procedures, directives and guidelines.Performs other duties as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education Required:Four-year degree in a Healthcare or Computer Science related field. Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology is extremely desirable. Must have at least an Associate's Degree. Experience Required:Health care experience resulting in a broad understanding of the clinical laboratory environment and operationsDesigned, installed, validated, and maintained interfaces for a clinical laboratory or related settingExperience with interfaces writing requirements/specificationsPrevious experience in the usage, file building, and troubleshooting of a laboratory information system is highly desirablePrevious experience in a service related field clinical laboratory, or related computer position desired.Two years working in SCC Support with an emphasis on HIS/Ref Lab interfacesPrior SoftLab experience is highly desirableSkills Required:Strong understanding of HL7 standards and interface enginesProficient with UnixMicrosoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Telelogic DoorsTravel Required:Minimal travel is required as a rule. Will travel to support resolution of client services issues or to attend professional meetings.
