On our team, you'll have the support to excel at workand the resources to build a career you can be proud of.As the Payroll Specialist, you will assist in the preparation, review, and processing of company payroll and relative information for GXO's US and Canadian employees. You will report into the Manager, Payroll, however, provide direct support to the Lead Specialist and Payroll Analysts to ensure payroll is processed accurately and timely.Pay, benefits and more.We are eager to attract the best, so we offer competitive compensation and a generous benefits package, including full health insurance (medical, dental and vision), 401(k), life insurance, disability and more. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Review and resolve payroll issues, inquiries, and transactions
  • Enter adjustment data into Employee Central Payroll (ECP) for inclusion in payroll processing
  • Review hours and correct errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
  • Process termination pay and special payment requests based on state regulations
  • Run simulation payments for on-demand payments
  • Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll alerts
  • Process Automated Clearing House (ACH) notification of changes, rejected funds, and other issue resolution for direct deposit
  • Issue Record of Employment (ROE) for Canadian employee leave of absences and terminations
  • Maintain check mailing instructions
  • Sort and distribute department mail
  • Initiate ACH direct deposit reversals on overpayments
  • Reconciling regular payroll with on demand payments to avoid duplicate pay
  • Support special projects and system and process testing
  • Maintain written procedures and knowledge base reference materials relative to payroll processingWhat you need to succeed at GXO:At a minimum, you'll need:
    • 1 year of related work experience
    • Experience with HR technologies/modules in a leading platform such as SuccessFactors
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word)
    • Ability to work under time pressure and meet deadlinesIt'd be great if you also have:

      • Outstanding interpersonal and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
