Job Description:

Directly responsible for knowledge of the food program, menu development, and all kitchen functions including preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; preparation, plate presentation, portion, and cost control. Our diner is set to serve All Day Breakfast, Brunch and lunch NY style and an option for Vegan menu. We are a laid back family style diner not just with the employees but with our customers as well. We encourage creativity to develop own recipes but must also follow recipes provided to keep that authentic NY taste. Must have a passion not only for cooking but customer satisfaction. Work with GM to plan and price menu items. Establish portion sizes and prepare standard recipe cards for all new menu items. Should have knowledge of proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures. Qualifications: Some experience needed in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook and expediter. -At least two years' experience in a similar capacity. -Be able to communicate and understand the English language. -Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests. -Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
