Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing quality care to our patients in their homes.Job SummaryThe Speech Therapist (ST) is a professional member of the healthcare team who provides Speech Therapy services to patients in compliance with all applicable practice acts. The ST performs duties within standards of clinical practice as defined by the Department of Professional Regulation, the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association, and the policies and procedures of the agency.Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' level of functioning and hearing, and recommend mechanisms to enhance their hearing ability.
• Provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments of patients' needs, including Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) assessments.
• Establish a Speech Therapy treatment plan in consultation with the physician and revise it with the physician's approval as necessary.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the interdisciplinary client care plan as it pertains to Speech Therapy.
• Communicate with other team members and instruct them in speech pathology techniques when appropriate.
• Teach, supervise, and counsel patients and their families in the total Speech Therapy program and other related problems.
• Record all evaluation data, treatments, and patients' responses to therapeutic intervention on a timely basis.
• Supervise Home Health Aides every 14 days when Speech Therapy is the only professional discipline involved in the patient's care.
• Record and report to the physician patients' reactions to treatment and/or any changes in their condition.
• Participate in the development of periodic revisions of the physician's plan of treatment and keep them informed of patients' status.Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy program or equivalent education.
  • Licensed in the State of Florida as a Speech Therapist.
  • Two years of clinical experience as a Speech Therapist.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Licensed driver with an automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization's requirements.
