REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor of Behavioral Health

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Clinical Psychologist is a member of the Primary Care Behavioral Health Integration team, assigned to provide psychological services to children and adults at Evara Health. The psychologist functions as part of the interdisciplinary care team providing the full range of psychological services, including assessment, individual counseling, psychoeducational groups, and assisting in the clinical management of patients by providing consultations and insight to the medical staff.

STANDARD RESPONSIBILITIES:

Is accountable to ensure patient rights and ensures an environment that promotes the privacy, dignity, and well-being of all patients in a safe, secure environment
Supports, cooperates with, and implements specific procedures and programs for:
Safety, including universal precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, reports and/or corrects unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs
Confidentiality of all data, including patient, employee, and operations data
Quality Improvement and compliance with all regulatory requirements
Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior
Supports and participates in common teamwork:
Cooperates and works together with all care team members, plans, and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment
Remain calm and poised in urgent or stressful situations
Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, care team members or patients regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns
Promotes positive public relations with patients, visitors, and the community
Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform, and dress codes including personal hygiene
Ability to work with persons from a wide diversity of social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds
Effectively and efficiently completes all duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers, scores, and interprets psychological assessment instruments and/or tests for diagnostic purposes as well as conducts diagnostic interviews.
Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for patients and their families
Assist in the development and/or implementation of assessment tools to conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and to develop appropriate behavior strategies.
Provide ongoing support and training to direct support professionals, ABA implementers, and other individuals in support roles for patients and their families.
Develop behavior plans for all patients with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
Adheres to current, applicable evidence-based clinical guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice
Helps patients and families understand how chronic conditions impact their lives and how to address barriers to care including treatment refusal
Assists patients and families in communicating with one another, and to members of health care team
Educates patients on levels of health care (e.g., acute, sub- acute, home care); entitlements; community resources; and advance directives
Plans, arranges, and implements psychosocial programs
Assists in the implementation of community and social programs in accordance with Evara Health grants/contracts with federal, state, and local agencies and mandates of service requirements with those grants/contracts
Provides referrals for services both within and outside of the organization that may be needed to address patient conditions.
Uses standardized screening and assessment tools and analysis tools to make objective decisions regarding patient condition
Coordinates continuity of care planning (including setting follow-up appointments with primary care team), and patient follow-up planning
Addresses outstanding quality care gaps that impact compliance with optimal management of health and health conditions.
Provides in-service presentations to team members as needed
Actively participate in assigned Evara Health meetings and committees
Prepare and present patient case reviews as requested
Acts as a resource for Evara Health employees and community partners
Responsible for providing top-notch direct care in line with Evara Health policies and procedures, standards, and expectations.
Responsible for accurate and timely documentation within patient records as outlined in workflow and policies and procedures
Openly, clearly, and respectfully share and receive information, opinions and concerns and feedback in a supportive manner.
Work collaboratively by actively participating in huddles, team meetings, by mentoring new and existing co-workers, building bridges, and creating rapport with team members across the organization.
Effective and timely handling of other duties as assigned.
Maintains strict confidentiality as appropriate.
Strict adherence to all Evara Health, HIPAA, HRSA, State, Federal and accreditation agency rules, and regulations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or child psychology
Clear and Active Florida Psychologist License as mandated by the Florida Board of Psychology
Two (2) years' experience evaluating children for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.
Commitment to working in a challenging, fast-paced, and rewarding position using the primary care behavioral health model to deliver population-based health care
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association
Proficiency in using an Electronic Medical Record or Electronic Health Record software
Preferred: Certified BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst)
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL SKILLS:
Able to walk, stand, talk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb and descend steps, carry or lift up to 25 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
Able to read up close or at a distance, identify and distinguish colors, have peripheral vision (up, down, left, right, while eyes are fixed on a given point), and have depth perception (3-dimensional vision, judge distance and spatial relationships).
Able to communicate, verbally and in writing with patients, vendors and/or co-workers.
