Senior Licensed Practical Nurse The successful incumbent will work with clients in a variety of clinic settings within the scope of Florida State and Federal Guidelines and DOH- Pinellas policies and procedures. Performs the following nursing services:

  • Adult and children's immunizations
  • Obtains patient medical history and vital signs
  • Case Management
  • Administers medication ordered by the provider
  • Educates and provides information regarding family planning, STD screening and treatment services
  • Responds with other clinical staff to emergency situations that occur in clinic
  • Works with clinic manager to assure efficient clinic flow
  • Utilizes an EMR to document client visits
  • Performs EKG's, spirometry, and other medical office tests Other Related Duties as Assigned:
    • Performs other duties as required
    • Keeps supervisor informed
    • Attends staff meetings as required
    • Attends training for personal and professional growth
    • Meets annual training requirements
    • Provides back-up assistance to the admitting department Knowledge, Skills and Abilities needed for the position:
      • Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices & techniques.
      • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments
      • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, utilizing approved DOH abbreviations when documenting in the electronic medical record
      • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
      • Ability to operate a personal computer and accompanying software programs
      • Ability to safely administer medications and immunizations within scope of nursing licensure
      • Ability to work with persons of a different race, language, culture, or socioeconomic status
      • Ability to make sound nursing judgments independently
      • Ability to adapt to necessary changes in duties, duty station, or work hours for the benefit of the agency
      • Ability to deal effectively with customers of various types of backgrounds and cultures.
      • Ability to learn and maintain proficiency of computer skills & new programs required by Medical and Clinical Services divisions
      • Skills in one-on-one interviewing; ability to maintain accurate and appropriate medical documentation in EMR system Minimum Qualifications:
        • At least 1 year of electronic medical record (EMR) experience
        • At least 1 year of experience working as an LPN
        • Bilingual in English and Spanish
        • Current, active Florida Nursing license or a multistate license from another Compact State
        • Valid driver's license with access to daily, reliable transportation or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment Other Desirable Qualifications:
          • 1 year of experience working in a fast-paced medical office.
