The markets for titanium are rapidly expanding and Dynamet is growing to meet the new demands.PLANT MANAGER - Clearwater, FL locationThis position reports directly to the VP - Dynamet and will have overall responsibility for the daily operations of the Clearwater facility with oversight for employees, production and efficiency that ensures the plant is running safely, smoothly, quickly and efficiently.PRIMARY DUTIESMaintain optimum operation by assigning workers, creating and keeping work and production schedules, hiring and training new employees, collecting and looking through data to find places of waste or places of improvement, keeping an eye on worker safety and plant safety, monitoring the production equipment to make sure that it stays in good working order, and repairing or replacing the equipment when needed.Provide management oversight and leadership of safety, manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, operations planning, quality assurance/control and human resource functions for a production facility. The production operations include titanium bar and wire finishing, coating and packaging operations.Develop and sustain a cohesive team focused on continuously improving all work processes.Define and communicate performance expectations for employees and coaches and counsels them in the performance of job responsibilities. Measure and evaluate performance and make appropriate adjustments to meet the goals and objectives.Utilize the Carpenter Operating Model, continuously improving manufacturing systems including but not limited to production processes, material flow, quality systems and statistical process control.Evaluate capacity and constraints and maintenance technologies for improved operational efficiencies.Participate in the development of the annual operating budget for the facility. Manage the operation of the facility within the established budget making adjustments as needed based on ongoing operational performance and current market conditions.Responsible for SQDPC objectives for the entire plant operations.Safety - 100% responsible for driving safety culture and leading the top safety improvement projects.Quality - meet or exceed plan quality levels established by the organization.Delivery - ensure at least on time delivery to the customers is 90%People - lead employee engagement opportunities. Drive positive workplace initiatives. Fully staff the organization.Cost - Achieve cost initiatives and inventory levels as established by the organization.Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.REQUIREMENTSFour year college degree preferred or demonstrated equivalent experience. 7+ years of experience at a lower level manager position or Manufacturing Engineer position.Requires knowledge manufacturing systems including computer systems, metal making processes, material flow and handling schemes, quality systems and process control techniques. Practical understanding of industrial/manufacturing principles, standards, methods and practices.Demonstrated experience executing business plans and goal achievement.Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills. Open and candid communication style; willingness to dissent and encourage dissent prior to final decision making. Highly responsiveness to customer requests. Superior negotiation skills.Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate technical and business decisions.Ability to be a team player, routinely influence and lead business improvement efforts.
