With a membership more than 168,000 strong, we empower professionals who touch every aspect of information security.Position SummaryThe Senior Manager, Public Relations and Content Strategy will lead our global in-house public relations, and corporate and executive communications. The ideal candidate manages a global team of public relations, presentation and corporate communications professionals, and outside agencies. This role will regularly engage senior management, subject matter experts, regional teams, department heads, members and others throughout the organization to proactively identify opportunities to generate positive news coverage, establish thought leadership, build awareness for the association and its members, and effectively communicate strategies that enable the association to reach its strategic objectives. This role will also champion the (ISC)2 employee culture and foster the organization's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion goals.Responsibilities

  • Lead (ISC) 2 global public relations strategy to support the organization's mission and strategic objectives
  • Manages a team of public relations and communications professionals by setting short- and long-term goals and KPIs aligned to organizational goals
  • Oversee all PR-related communications and activity, including press release development, pitches and executive briefing materials; media relations; media training and coaching; tradeshow and event PR; success measurement and reporting; managing all global PR agency relationships
  • Consult and advise internal teams to identify new PR opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership material, including blogs, white papers, reports, byline articles and infographics
  • Support the association's cybersecurity advocacy team and their efforts to advance the security profession in the public and private sectors
  • Support the association's efforts to advance Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the workforce
  • Develop communications strategies to support various company initiatives like product and service launches and updates
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of association crisis communication plans and response
  • Contribute to global messaging and branding standards
  • Contribute to content marketing strategies
  • As needed, oversee and assign the development of original and compelling copy for multiple communications channels, audiences and regions, including web, print, events, video scripts, blogs, newsletters, white papers and social media
  • Other duties as assigned Qualifications
    • BA or BS degree in journalism, marketing, communications or a related field required
    • Minimum 8+ years of experience as a public relations and/or corporate communications leader either in-house or with an agency
    • Experienced public relations and corporate communications leader with track record of success
    • Excellent writer and editor
    • Excellent proof reader with strong attention to detail
    • Versatile writer who can adapt style and tone to a wide array of audiences and channels
    • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and information technology preferred
    • Management experience requiredSkills/Competencies:
