The VP of Corporate Accounting is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial statements, researching and collaborating with Technical Accounting on GAAP guidance related to all aspects of the financial statements. The VP of Corporate Accounting coordinates and executes all external audits to ensure timely completion by deadlines. The ideal candidate will oversee the corporate accounting team, create efficiency within the department, spearhead new systems being implemented, and review journal entries with supporting reconciliation spreadsheets to ensure accuracy. From a consolidated financial statement perspective, review the rollup of accounting treatment for consistency and accuracy. This person would also work closely with FP&A department to ensure proper communication and effective reporting for efficiencies. Responsibilities:

  • Provide genuine input as to the hiring, firing, disciplining, and promoting of subordinates to which the Company gives significant weight--
  • Coordinate yearly audits with external auditors including supervising the timeliness of the audit requests and vetting questions from the auditors and ad hoc requests to ensure they are completed by the deadline
  • Oversee the consolidation process at a line item level for proper GAAP treatment and consistency and work with both the international accountants and the US accountants to meet close deadlines
  • Review and analyze completed monthly financial statements and trend analysis for submission to management
  • Coordinate with the international team on consistent accounting treatment at a consolidated level.
  • Supervise lower level managers and mentor them to understand and create well documented supporting spreadsheets and memos
  • Review GAAP memoranda and implement the required accounting treatment
  • Ensure journal entries are correctly calculated and posted
  • Review account reconciliations, streamlining accounting processes for accuracy and efficiency wherever possible
  • Direct initiatives for automation of financial reporting
  • Produce ad hoc reports and analyses as necessary
  • Participate in quarter-end board reporting activities
  • Help create SOX documentation and support within the close process and ongoing accounting working with the Internal Audit department to ensure we are in compliance
  • Work with FPA team to create efficiencies and ensure a good flow of communication and transfer of knowledge of the actual results so they can properly forecast and budget Minimum Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in Accounting--
    • 8+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting
    • Experience in coordinating a full year audit
    • Experience with researching and documenting technical accounting topics in accordance with GAAP
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong GAAP expertise and prior demonstrated ability to conduct research when required
    • Experience using NetSuite or equivalent ERP a plus
    • Mastery of Excel
    • Experience with Gmail and Google Docs
    • Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel)
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Strong verbal and written communications
