Manufacturing Process Engineer - Clearwater, FL Dynamet Incorporated's Clearwater, FL facility , is a leading domestic and international supplier of titanium alloy products. Acquired by Carpenter in 1997, Dynamet supplies titanium bar, wire, fine wire, strip, and precision shapes for the aerospace, medical, consumer, motorsports and recreation industries. Dynamet is a member of Carpenter's Performance Engineered Products division and maintains a second manufacturing facility in western PA. Manufacturing Process Engineer - Clearwater, FL location PRIMARY DUTIES Define and measure appropriate criteria for new equipment, processes and product introductions as well as recognizing opportunities to create new, evolving technologies. Lead and/or assist in design/automation improvements to existing machines and processes, and clean sheet design of new machines and/or processes. Support deployment of lean manufacturing systems across the facility. Contributes to OEE improvement activities. Lead and participate in Value Stream Mapping and identification, implementation and monitoring of improvements. Identify root cause and implement process corrective action to prevent recurrence. Work to identify and drive continuous improvement actions throughout manufacturing processes by participating, leading and facilitating Kaizen events. Monitor and track success in terms of stated goals compared to actual savings metrics as dollars and timely activity completion. Resolve machine stop situations and machine performance to increase production quality, efficiency or volume output. Evaluate, develop and implement 5S and visual communications. Champion change management and assist in delivering strategic initiatives that will aid in improvement or implementation of new systems, processes, services or cost-effective solutions that achieve company objectives. Supports implementation of solutions to equipment safety issues. Responsible for supporting the Manufacturing area with consideration for goals and objectives of the area. Develop weekly operations and manpower schedules as necessary. Utilize data driven problem solving methods to anticipate potential problems and optimize key metrics for business objectives. Drive and support a culture of quality at the source taking ownership for quality of work, services and products. Work within and assist in the development of the appropriate standards, specifications and procedures, including but not limited to those required for production, safety and environment activities. Responsible for managing 3 - 5 projects simultaneously. The range and duration for one project is from 4 to 26 weeks to completion. Annualized project load ranges from 10 - 25 projects. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Four-year college degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. 0 - 2 years of experience. Will consider applicants with strong, results oriented Internship. Two-year college degree with at least one year of engineering support experience required. Strong working knowledge of various software applications including MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma process management. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred. Proven ability managing projects and teams. Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively manage projects and teams. Knowledge of engineering principles, standards, methods and practices. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills and the ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions. Ability to work in a fast-pace and ever-changing production environment with frequently changing priorities.
