System Safety Engineer in support of Commercial, Military and Space
Aerospace products and programs. This position is part of a team
analyzing systems to identify hazards, categorize risks and
recommend mitigations to reduce the probability/severity of a
mishap resulting in injury to personnel, equipment damage, and/or
damage to the environment. Candidates will collaborate with system,
design, and reliability engineering, program leadership, government
representatives, and suppliers,Due to compliance with U.S. export
control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person,
which is defined as a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or
have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee
status.--Key Responsibilities:--- Conduct system safety analysis of
hardware and software on aerospace systems and platforms.--- Review
a Statement of Work (SOW) or contract for safety requirements.---
Develop Safety Program Plans.--- Create Hazard Tracking Systems
(HTS) and categorize the potential hazards present in a system.---
Evaluate and create risk assessments subject to peer and customer
reviews.--- Manage a library of artifacts to demonstrate product or
program compliance.--- Prepare hazard analyses in accordance with
MIL-STD-882E or DO-254.--- Collaborate with Reliability Team and
FMECA results to ensure safety of operation needs are met.---
Ensure the Software Safety team has the data, details and artifacts
to conduct their separate Safety Review.--- Prepare/review/update
Technical Data Packages and Presentation Materials in support of
Safety Review Boards and Software Systems Safety Technical Review
Panel (SSSTRP).--- Review System Requirements documents to identify
potentially hazardous conditions and make recommendations to system
design in collaboration with program staff.--- Perform operational
analyses identify potential deficiencies in operating procedures,
training documentation, maintenance procedures, storage, and
handling procedures.--- Review and make recommendations to test
plans to ensure safety requirements are met.--- Assess Engineering
Change Proposals (ECPs) and other system change requests to
identify/verify safety risks.Hybrid schedule or 3-2 (visit site 3
or more days a

MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical
discipline- 2 years Aerospace Safety related experience-
Experience/familiarity with MIL-STD-822E, DO-178C, or DO-254WE
VALUE--- Experience in Aerospace Safety engineering work.--- An
Electrical, Aeronautics or Aerospace Engineering degree--- Ability
to work independently, guide the work of others and understand,
interpret, and implement safety requirements from a high-level
document.--- Excellent communication skills in one-on-one
situations and group settings.--- Good writing skills and ability
to document information and data clearly and concisely.---
Comfortable making presentations to internal and external
customers.--- Available for occasional travel to customer sites for
