The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) may serve as a delegate to the
Quality Manager. The SQE will ensure that the quality standards of
the company are maintained within the SGPPL Clearwater procedures,
policies, purchased components, and manufactured products.
They will participate in and may lead complaint investigations,
CAPA investigations, lead supplier audits, drive supplier quality,
conduct internal audits and drive continuous improvement projects
throughout the plant. They may support any facility expansions,
software validations, equipment qualifications, and/or process
validations required to support existing / new processes.
The SQE will participate in third-party audits and conduct training
when needed. Some other duties of the SQE are: Implementation,
maintenance, and control of systems & practices which monitor,
assess, and approve the quality of materials and products at all
stages of production. Responsible for implementing, maintaining,
and facilitating continuous quality improvement objectives,
primarily cGMP, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 for the manufacturing
location, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Clearwater.
- Lead to a resolution of supplier quality issues such as
inquiries, quality events, SCARs, complaints, non-conformances,
CAPAs, audits utilizing sound problem-solving methodologies
- Project Management
- Lead Supplier Audits
- Maintain the Approved Supplier Vendor List
- Lead the Supplier Qualification program
- Lead Supplier Change Notice
- Lead Supplier related Validation activities
- Satisfy customer requests and complete the associated
- Management of Equipment Calibration for measuring, inspection,
and process equipment
- Implementation/oversight of quality assurance laboratory and
review/approval of QA testing and QA product release
- Oversight of cleanroom practices including qualification,
monitoring, and behavior
- Conducts training, coordinates functions, resolves
issues/problems, and manages projects requiring direction of others
throughout the facility as needed.
- Able to operate independently and as part of a team to meet
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience in Engineering or
Science/Related field (Required)
- 3-5 Years working in a Manufacturing Environment, working with
ISO and GMP quality systems (Required)
- Strong background in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 820
- Lead Auditor Certificate for ISO 13485:2016, background
performing Supplier Audits QMS (Preferred)
- Excellent analytical / problem solving, project management,
interpersonal and organizational skills required.
- Must be a team player. Must have effective communications
skills both written and verbal to interface with internal and
external personnel and customers in a professional manner.
- Must work well in a team environment, possess an ability to
adapt to change in the environment, and have proven ability to
exert influence in a directive and positive manner.
