Position Description Empath Health is a nonprofit integrated network of care that provides expert, life-changing health care to those with chronic and advanced illnesses. Empath Health includes hospice, palliative home health and physician services, independent living assistance and day care for seniors, HIV services and advance care planning. Suncoast Hospice was established in 1977 by a group of volunteers who realized the value of hospice care and wanted to bring it to their community. As a member of Empath Health, we are a nonprofit organization that provides care, compassion and comfort to thousands of Pinellas County residents. We are currently seeking an experienced and detail oriented Administrative Assistant to provide support services to the Chief Medical Officer and all employees in the aligned department, as well as support and back-up to the Programs Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant also acts as lead in collaboration with the "Mid-County Service Center Administrative Clinical Assistant and Admin Support Mission: Through every step of every journey, we offer compassion through extraordinary care, hope through innovative services and inspiration through endless encouragement. Position Requirements As an Administrative Assistant with Empath Health you must be patient/family focused, loyal, motivated and interested in serving your community. Other requirements of this role include: --- Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. --- Minimum five (5) years administrative assistant experience, medical or social service related background helpful. --- Able to work flexible hours depending on needs of agency. --- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), as well as excellent interpersonal relationship skills with physicians, staff, volunteers and community physicians. --- Must be able to handle multiple projects, appropriately organizing, prioritizing and delegating. --- Able to schedule multiple meetings and appointments efficiently and accurately in coordination with peers, with other departments and the public. --- Superior administrative and organizational skills, including good command of English (punctuation and usage) typing, transcription skills, and knowledge of currently utilized office equipment such as copier, scanner and FAX. --- Work characteristics such as flexibility, ability to work independently as well as a team player, anticipation of needs, dependability. Promotes a positive professional image and environment for the Agency and its administration. Promotes leadership/role model in support area. --- Ability to participate in the development of contracts and project planning. Previous supervisory experience preferred. --- Advanced computer skills to include all Microsoft applications or equivalent applications (Powerpoint presentations, Visio charts, Excel spreadsheets, data bases, etc.). Knowledge of Solutions helpful. Exhibit basic knowledge of medical terminology. --- Exhibit professionalism and respects confidentiality.
