Citi has made it a priority to foster a culture where the best people want to work, where individuals are promoted based on merit, where we value and demand respect for others and where opportunities to develop are widely available to all.-Citi's Global Consumer Banking Data Governance Office (GCB DGO), a function within Citi's Business Operational Risk and Control (CBORC) organization, drives consistency in addressing data-related issues within the Global Consumer Bank.- The GCB DGO is a team of professionals with responsibility to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our data environment through a common infrastructure, quality control monitoring, and implementation of the Manager's Control Assessment, end-user computing governance, data quality risk metrics and issues management.- It is a critical strategic organization that supports Citi's Chief Data Office and Data Quality Program, ensuring the data management risk profile within the Global Consumer businesses are well understood and well managed. As a First Line of Defense function, GCB DGO builds trusted relationships with Business and Data Governance Leaders, Process and Technology Owners as well as Second and Third Line partners. Responsibilities:

  • As an analyst with the GCB DGO, the Data Governance Policy Compliance Lead will be responsible for providing program visibility, action planning and issue management of EUC related regulatory and management control initiatives across GCB. -This is a global role that will work with management and their teams across GCB LOBs, Regions and the second and third lines of defense (i.e. Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, Finance, Operational Risk, Credit Risk).
  • Balances and executes near-medium-long-term action plans and partners with large/complex country, region, or business requiring coordination and execution across units.- Action plans are typically to address regulatory requirements and commitments under Matters Requiring Attention (MRAs), Corrective Action Plans and Business re-engineering initiatives
  • Review Policy changes periodically, identify new requirements and create and champion standards for GCB to adhere to. Educate senior leaders and GCB personnel on changing policy requirements and define map and gap with each revision.
  • Review policy requirements, partner with stakeholders to address EUC portal functionality, identify discrepancies, options and make recommendations for remediation. Coordinate with peers to interact with Chief Data Office and corporate staff to communicate updates to policies and tooling in accordance with GCB decisions to business partners. --
  • Coordinate and manage relationships required for EUC portal enhancement requests across sectors and with the Chief Data Office. Communicate to stakeholders EUC initiatives, provide feedback and recommendation for improvements. Create and implement communication routines including working group meetings, email communication, and production of working group materials. Partner with management to create and implement scorecards to track policy adherence: globally, regionally and by line of business.
  • Ensure GCB compliance with the Citi Data Management Policy, specifically EUC, SDR/ADS and Data Standards. Empower partners to utilize playbooks and training materials to better educate people on how to comply. Influence the development of standards for the governance teams to measure and assess risks related to business compliance with these initiatives.
  • Prepare and present recurring updates for management and shared with regulators; tracks progress activities being managed by other areas such as business, technology and Chief Data Office to identify emerging risks.
  • Perform governance of metrics shared with stakeholders and progress updates that are presented and reviewed at EUC, CDO and Data governance committees.
  • Execute processes to assess emerging business risks from a variety of sources including Internal Audit, Compliance, business and functional stakeholders and to integrate issues identified in other lines of business to identify and prioritize potential risks
  • Execute strategic control and governance initiatives including the design and build of strategy, scope approach and framework.
  • Create and manage communications with a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership; these communications include standardized issue documentation, dashboards, templates, reporting, and forums to provide senior management and business owner issue awareness (number, severity, status) and action.-
  • Influence diverse stakeholders at various levels of seniority without direct reporting relationships to ensure appropriate response and sense of urgency.
  • Review Policy changes and assess business impact and implications and determine required changes to inform EUC program management and stakeholder of impacts.
  • Define a global playbook for EUC Program management and work with other sectors within Citi to share and learn best practices.Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related work experience. Regulatory and Risk Management experience preferred.
    • Strong understanding of data management and governance principles, industry as well as practical experience in business and technology implementation cycles. Knowledge of the industry and data management/governance products/services is also necessary in order to advance the maturity of the program.- Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise.- The job is likely to be involved in influencing and communicating across functions and matrixed organizations to arrive at common objectives and solutions.-
    • At least 3+ years of business experience in audit, control, compliance or regulatory management in consumer banking, financial services.
    • Strong communication (written and oral), reporting, presentation and influencing skills. Proven ability to autonomously create clear written communications (Samples of prior work will be requested).
    • Experience working with and on large-scale project or program management with the proven ability to work with peers to develop action plans and drive a diverse group of stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines; Using Planning and Coordinating skills for Process Engineering/Re-engineering skills are key to this role and its success
    • Strong investigative and analytical skills for EUC solution identification, implementation and tracking of effective remediation, and design of sustainable processes.
    • Assertive and self-confident to challenge status quo and propose diverse ideas within existing processes and business practices.
    • Pragmatic, self-motivated, problem-solver, forward thinker with knowledge of broader consumer financial business models and operating risks.
    • Strong relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across the Global Consumer Bank and key support areas like Audit, Compliance, Chief Data Office, other Sectors, Control, CAO, Independent Risk, and Legal.
    • Proven track record of strategic thinking and tactical planning for developing multiple approaches to solve issues and make recommendation to senior leadership.
    • Working knowledge of Citi's Data Management Policy, Data Governance Programs and Global Consumer Bank business operations a plus.
    • Experience implementing, managing, and operating within a business governance structure.This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
