Job Description:

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing Lumber and Building Materials company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheet and profit and loss statementsPerform General Ledger entriesPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliationsReview complex general ledger entries to ensure accuracyProvide explanations for monthly general ledger variancesPerform inventory reconciliations and provide explanations for variancesFile monthly sales taxReview and reconcile CIP accounts. Differentiate expense and capitalized expenditures, make adjustments as necessary.Work with General Ledger and Accounts Payable teams to solve any issues that arise.Back up General Ledger team, in times of leave of absence.Other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related fieldsMinimum of 3 years experience in similar role preferably with a building materials companyStrong understanding of inventory, financial reporting and month end close processProficient in Excel.
