The Senior Tax Accountant compiles and prepares sales tax returns, property tax returns, business licenses, and related work papers for review and approval by the Indirect Tax Manager. Maintains current and historical files to support tax filings. Supports tax department professionals in complying with the federal, state, and local tax reporting responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: Tax return preparation of sales and use tax and property tax. Timely processing and payment of tax invoices. Maintain sales tax calendar, property tax filing and payments calendar. Reconciliation of assessments. Handle and resolve notices received from jurisdictions. Research State and Local tax issues as needed. Process resale certificate requests. Handle monthly AS400 updates. Perform audit assistance. Assist with business license projects. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Position will transition to Supervisory role as more work is brought in-house. Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required. Background with software programs including Vertex, PTMS, and BLMS a plus. Must be detail oriented and be able to work independently. Should possess problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills to perform job duties successfully. Education and Experience: -- College Degree required -- 3-5 years--- experience in sales tax preparation, research, and audit assistance required. -- Sales tax review experience a plus. Property tax review experience a plus.
